The Key to Good Design

The natural place to start is with the design and we know from experience that by using manufacturing design software, we can eliminate a whole range of issues before we move to the fabrication stage. Our manufacture-led approach starts with our team combining their skill and knowledge with our manufacturing software SolidWorks.

SolidWorks is a solid modeling computer-aided design and computer-aided engineering application published by Dassault Systèmes. It assists us, which means you the customer, and our team, in creating homes that are manufactured accurately from the agreed design, eliminating any glitches. We believe in measuring twice cut once, and SolidWorks is key to enabling us to follow our ethos in pursuit of excellent DFMA.

Fail to plan  – Plan to fail!

Starting with a comprehensive and well-thought-out plan lays the groundwork for a successful modular, panelised, or volumetric building project. It allows for better project planning, minimises potential issues during construction, and contributes to a more efficient and streamlined building process.

Design and Construction Integration

RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) stages are not perfectly aligned to offsite construction methods, so it is extremely important to set out early and integrate the offsite design requirements with the client team requirements to ensure we create the build you want. Virtual meetings can be arranged at key stages during the entire project to ensure the brief is being addressed and to review progress.

This phase sets the foundation for the entire project and determines its success in terms of functionality, aesthetics, cost-effectiveness, and timely completion.

Applications – Homes and Annexes

We design a range of home and home extension structures from single and multi-story housing to annexes and garden rooms across the South West of England.   We have worked with a range of clients designing modular homes in Cornwall, Devon.  We can also direct you to a range of timber frame projects we have designed in Devon and Cornwall, and have designed for a number of self-build projects in the South West of England.

We have designed annex buildings for homeowners in Cornwall and Devon who are keen on accommodating extended family, guests, or even elderly relatives.  A Building with Frames home or annex is designed with client input from the outset to ensure the design fits their brief and requirements.
