Bridgewater Somerset Project
Work begins on an exciting project up near Bridgewater, Somerset .
BWF are constructing 5 blocks that consist of two dormitory pods and a bathroom pod set in a fabulous but challenging rural location in the Quantock Hills.
The client / business received grant funding for this project and we have worked closely with the clients to create the right structure for this location and meet the brief of a rustic but functional, modern construction, offering a feeling of up-graded camping !
Detailed design has enabled all the components of the project to be constructed off site ready to send to site for erection – this will speed up the on site schedule and ensure controlled fabrication of frames which are then delivered as kits. Built with insulated timber frame walls and a SIPS roof, the buildings will sit on heavy duty galvanised Screw Piles – these are all installed prior to the build and cause minimal disruption to the site … all locations for these and screw depths are pre calculated with engineering details followed. They have proved a great base for this location with its banked terraced plot .
The buildings will feature a timber cladding finish to the exterior on the front and side elevations, rustic shutters , double glazed windows , EPDM roofing , wavy cement board to the rear elevations, plus a fabulous curved roof detail across the central pods . Internally it will be timber clad. The BWF team will be on site for the duration of the build with carefully planned logistical support from the unit here in Bissoe.
Watch this space as this project evolves …. It will be an exciting one so follow its progress!
